In 2010 I went to a knitting exhibition at a local arts café, I had an idea that I would like to try knitting prior to this but that exhibition gave me the oomph I needed to give it a go. A very patient friend showed me the basics and with a lot of persistence and YouTube I got it and from then I was hooked.
Fast forward 4 years I was obsessed with this new hobby, knitting cute little toys using pre-existing patterns, I have never been one to stick to the rules so I started to change the patterns here and there, then designing my own patterns.
I started selling my knitted toys at local craft markets, seeing how well received they were I opened an Etsy shop.
In 2022 an opportunity arose to buy an existing wool shop in Stevenage indoor market, I took over the business, due to lack of customer footfall I moved the shop to Letchworth Garden City. Unfortunately, it wasn't sustainable to have a physical shop so I have moved online and had to close the business.
In January 2024 I co-hosted Wool in Garden city, a week-long wool festival in Welwyn Garden City. This was a great event with many very talented designers and this is where I taught knitting for the first time.
I have now moved back to my home town of Portsmouth and ready to give it another go and cannot wait to start working in the community.
